Haas Trunion Setup + Joint Help

Attached is a file that contains the Haas TR160 trunnion, the 5thaxis rocklock base, and 5th axis self centering vice.

When the vice is in the file by itself the jaws move as should, but when imported into the file with the trunnion, they no longer work.

How do i go about fixing the trunnion to (XYZ,0) origin, get the trunnion to swing +-120 degrees, the platter to spin, and the 5th axis plate and vice mounted to the top of the platter, and get the vice jaws to operate as correct? I cant seem to figure out the joints, after i have things locked into place. i understand locking them into place obviously locks them, but when i add a joint, they don't work still.

also how do i add a center origin joint, at the center of the vice jaws?

I'm going to kick this over to the Design Forum, as it's actually a modeling and assembly question and less a CAM related question 🙂

Not real sure what I am looking at,  No history, means the interface is a little different, but here goes,

TR160 Base needs to be Grounded.

Things started working when this Rigid Group was suppressed

Strgt.PNG

The vice jaws work outside this assembly, but

trg1liu.PNG

this Rigid Group overrides that Slider.

Rev 3 was a duplicate of Rev 1, deleted Rev 3.

I created Rev 4  (No as built Joints here so position selections are off) to make the saddle revolve, set Joint Limit -120 and +120, but that may be the wrong orientation of the numbers, maybe 60 deg each way?

I have it working the way I think it should, yes the file is changed and I may have created some position problems, but you should get to see it happen.  Hoping you can fix things I have (slightly) broken.

In summary the rigid groups were including things that should be able to move.

Might help....
