Grouping componenets.

I grouped Rigid Group 9 & 10, saved the file then closed it. Opened the file the next day

and the components were no longer grouped. They act individually. How do I get a group

to remain together??

Thanks

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I can assemble the drawer as one unit and the box

as one unit then move the drawer in and out of the box to show the relationship.

If I close the file and reopen it later all the components are separated.

Have posted the altered file with the components reassembled.

I do not think you set up your assembly correctly.  I have created your two Rigid Groups and Ground to Parent the housing group.  I then added a Slider Joint to the drawer and added Joint Limits.  Try out the model now, it is attached.

It is a type of Assembly Joint.  The Animated GIF will show it's location.

I can get components to slide but how did you get the two groups to work together??

And could you make the movements between selection a little slower. I have trouble

seeing what menu selection is being chosen. Or just a step by step, ASSEMBLE/JOINT/MOTION/SLIDER etc

would be helpful.

Thanks again

I started the video with your original model. I attached the model I used in the video so you could follow along.

I have attached the model I used in the video so you can have it to follow.

Many thanks. I was not zooming in tight enough to set the 2nd step in joint and it was doing all

sorts of weird things. All is well, thanks again.

You really should post your explanation to YouTube. Everything involving sliders is for components

not groups and 4-5 years old. Fusions layout has changed a lot so they are hard to follow.

Thanks again.

Are you address me?  If so, you should address your Forum post to my User Name and not yourself.  As for YouTube, I do have a YouTube channel but it is geared to more advanced topics in the use of Fusion.

To use any Fusion Assembly Joint, you must have components, or at least for one side of the joint, you are placing.  Rigid Groups can be used for Joints as long as they are composed of Components.
