I have an object that has a slider joint assigned to it. The slider joint works as expected. But now I want to ground the object, for a short while, so that I can attach another object to using a ball joint. The second object has each end a sphere attached. One sphere connects to the object that has a slider joint whereas the other sphere connects to a carriage. The object with the spheres at each end I called the rod. So, with a rod connected to the slider I should be able to move it without moving the slider. But that is not the case.
I am not sure but I assumed that if I grounded the slider object that I would not be able to move it after grounding it even though it had a ball joint on it since it was only going to be a temporary grounding. But after I ground the slider I can still move it up and down.
Any help or assistance that can be given would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Joseph
