@TheCADWhisperer
I just finished going through the video and taking a lot of notes.. I'm completely blown away.. I'm going to have to rewatch it several times -- there's a lot there that I *sort* of understand and a lot I *don't* understand.
All of the points you made in the video about what I was thinking were dead on.
- 76mm was the width of the original piece.
- I couldn't figure out the symmetry piece - I had seen it on a video before, and I didn't quite understand how to make it work, and I was short on time, so I just did it the hard way.
- The original arc on the piece I was duplicating was smooth, and I had no idea how to do the tangent piece, so I just eyeballed it and got as close as I could without throwing a lot of it out of whack.
- The original "wings" (that's what I called the stubby pieces that stick out) were 8mm. My wife didn't like them that big, so I shortened them down to 6mm.
- I didn't actually care about the distance between the wings, so I didn't measure it (either in real life or in the sketch), so that's why it came out at the 19.xxxx
I can't thank you enough.
I do have one question (actually several, but the others will wait until I can practice and get some better wording):
Why would I change the perspective of the view cube? I knew that I could from a video, but I never understood the why?
Thank you again,
David F.
