Geometric shape seed patterning

Trying to model a "wall" of the enclosed geometric shape.  Someone from Facebook Forum suggested seed patterns, but I cannot find any reference for it.  The shape consists of 12 diamond-shaped facets, each of which extrudes into the center of the shape.  They are all components. I tried first to make them into 1 component but that didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Thanks  - I see your shapes are bodies and not components. Is this pattern not possible with components as in my file?  DJH

Yes, components will work the same,

I didn't make the bodies into components not knowing your wall design, size and usage.

I didn't construct the first shape as prisms either.

I made three sketches, two bodies with loft, then mirrored those two, patched the base and side, before making the wall.

A step-by-step how to would be a big help.  Thanks in advance.

Dang, my original file was overwritten, so went again, (I am more efficient after 15 months)

Sketch 1 is a regular polygon,

Sketch 2 is a square, (but could be a parallelogram,)

Sketch 3 has the projections for alignment and is a parallelogram

PolyWall1.PNG

Loft Sketch 1 to 3, (Mapping handles needed to be adjusted)

Mirror the body.

Combine both to one body,

Pattern the body to as many as you wish

(Combine all if requied)

Compare the two timelines.

Might help....
