Generative design models organic branch count

Do generative design models know how many organic branches exist on their model?

Is their a forensic data monitor other than the model creator - that knows the number of organic branches exist for a specific generative design model.

Using the branch count + other data counts could give GD models a complexity value.

Just curious what the approach might be and how the computer knows this  GD body has branches in it's structure.?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

That's an interesting idea! Right now we do not generate that information about generative outcomes, mostly because it's a bit time-consuming to create and nobody's asked us for it. Can you help me understand a bit why you want to know or what you would do with that information? Would you find a unitless "complexity" quantity helpful in sorting outcomes, or would it be confusing? We're always looking for ways to make the generative design experience better.

Thanks for the question!

Ben

Ben,

Sorry for waiting to get back to you. My mother health has not been good and I ve been firing off idea like a machine gun to keep me focused these past two months .  and have not done due diligence of responding back to good people like yourself  over the holiday season. Autodesk Fusion 360 generative design iterations  are too numerous to manage and if reran through solver some designs would not pass due thin,  inadequate structure network. a complexity value would help sort and rank designs better than just cost once you get Ansys working with GD.   John
