Fusion360 will not launch

Fusion 360 installed and the icon appears on the desktop for Windows 7 SP1. However when I click the icon the running icon appears for a few seconds, then nothing. I tried launching as administrator but get the same result. I've looked at several community posts but cannot find a solution. I've set the comparability option to Win 7.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Can you take a screenshot of any error messages that pop up as well as attach your installation log file and app log files to this post? The steps to do so can be found here.

Thanks,

There is no error message - there is no response from the Fusion program at all.

I found the installation log file (autodesk.webdeploy.streamer), but where is the app log file?

However, I do not see a way of attaching the any files to this reply.

Hi @Anonymous,

Those application log files are only generated if Fusion is fully installed, so it's possible that they aren't generated yet. The location of those files are in the last link I sent you. You can email those files to me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for sending me those files. I am noticing a lot of PermissionError: [Errno 13] Permission denied and [WinError 5] Access is denied in your installation log file. I'd like to try the following:

  • Open Windows Explorer
  • Navigate to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk
  • Delete Web Services and Webdeploy
  • Download the Fusion installer here (or if you already have a download file you can use that.).
    • NOTE: When you go to run the installer, make sure you right-click the file and select Run As Administrator

I want to see if deleting those two folders and then re-doing the installation (but making sure to install as an Administrator) will help.

Thanks,
