Fusion hates dxf?

Everytime i try to upload a dxf, even a small simple one, it takes forever and sometimes crashes. Is there anything I can do about it? Is there some way to take a dxf and turn it into something fusion won't choke on?

@Anonymous - can you share one of these simple DXFs that Fusion struggles with?

Sure, I'll post a file when I get home. Although it doesn't seem related to any specific file. I uploaded 6 separate files last week, all small shapes, not a lot of detail. Took 5 to 10 minutes for each one. Tried a few other times in the past, same issue. My pc is built for cad and fusion is lightning fast with literally everything else. I've uploaded huge multiple part assemblies in seconds, renders get to good quality in about a minute, everything is fast, just not simple dxf's. One thing I haven't tried is inserting a dxf into existing file rather than uploading in data panel. Could inserting it make any difference?

Depends on what's in the file, insert DXF will only import sketches. Also is it really a simple DXF, there are posts quite often with a simple DXF that turns out to contain several thousand lines (converted picture). You might need to ZIP a DXF as I don't think it's an allowed file type for uploads to the forum.
