Fusion crashes when working online

Can anyone explain what is happening here?

Looks like you need to update!
Many updates have happened while you were away. Fusion 360 no longer supports the operating system you are running. We recommend that you update your OS first and come back to get Fusion 360 up and running.

This error message takes place when I open F360 and it then closes the program, it will work properly when I leave it in "Work offline".

But, I don't think it's updating the program.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The current version is 2.0.2681. You can verify you have the latest (and nothing is updating in the background) by clicking Help > About.

I've seen this when there are pending operating system updates.

Can you try restarting your computer then try launching Fusion?

Kevin,

Thanks for the response.

I have been dealing with this for several months, so rebooting as been done more times than I can count.

I  think it's trying to update and isn't able to do so for whatever reason.

I'm at 2.0.2455 and seem to be stuck there.

I did open a support claim with AutoDesk so I'm going to let that run it's course.

Thanks again, Allen

Hi,

This sounds like there may be multiple updates waiting to happen.

Presuming this is a local installation you should be able to install the latest by removing the "webdeploy" folder and starting the install. This folder is located at:

  • Windows - c:\users\username\appdata\local\autodesk
  • OSX - /users/username/library/application support/autodesk/

Once deleted, go to the \Downloads folder and double-click the Fusion 360 Client Downloader exe file to restart the installation.

Kevin,

SHAZZAM!!

I did this and all is well, save one little issue (and I mean little).

EVERYTHING works, but the Shortcut icon disappeared and was replaced by a MS default icon. Go figure?

Anyone have a file path for the Fusion Shortcut Icon?

Thanks very much

Hi,

Depending on when you created the taskbar icon, the path may have changed.

The key is that the FusionLauncher.exe is what you're pointing to. This file's location doesn't change when we do updates.

I spoke too soon.

All it needed was a reboot and it was there.

I like the "Multi-axis" addition.

Very cool!
