In simulation, I am trying to change the study materials. Every time I try to do so, fusion crashes. Why? How can I fix this?

Can you add the model and create a Screencast video showing this?

Thanks,

I have included the file and a screenshot of the crash page. Anytime I try editing the "study materials" it crashes instantly.

I can reproduce the crash.  We will look into this and see what is going on.

FYI -when we ask for images or videos, we would like for you to show us the steps you are doing to repeat the crash.  Your issues was easy to reproduce but sometimes it is a lot harder to troubleshoot without more details on how to reproduce it.

Thanks,

Andy

I debugged this and I see what the problem is. You must have edited one or more of the materials you are using in your document using the Material Manager, in the Document Materials area. You then have some components suppressed/hidden. The combination of a modified document material and suppressed/hidden components is causing the crash. I can reproduce this from scratch. I cannot think of a way to edit your study to get around the issue, unfortunately unsuppressing/showing all components won't avoid it. We will look into getting a fix out for this as soon as possible.

Create a new study (don't clone the bad one) of the same type, then Copy/Paste your loads and constraints from the old to the new study. If you have changed other settings (mesh settings, etc.) you will need to change these manually. In Manage Materials you need to copy the base materials you want to your favorites library and edit them there. Then you can choose the favorites library in Material Manager and assign the materials to your parts. Do not edit the 'Document Materials'. This should get you back up and running while we work on a fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Fusion doesn't handle materials very well. It also happens when you use materials that you added to your favorite list... If you don't want problems with Fusion, just use their library right now. Otherwise you will eventually have a problem for one or other reason.

@Anonymous, thanks for letting us know about this!  Rob submitted his fix and I just finished testing it.  So far, I can edit the Study Materials on your model without the software crashing.

We are working on a hotfix to cover this issue and a few other minor things.  Should be ready in a few days.
