Fusion 360 to Rhino Vray

Hi Guys,

Since I usually use Rhino Vray for rendering, I was wondering if its possible to import the surfaces from Fusion 360 into Rhino (not as a mesh) , if there was a file format that could preserve the surfaces of the model done in F360.

Basically:

Model In Fusion 360 > Rhino Vray

kind of workflow.

Is it possible?

Thats pretty simple

export as STEP and load the STEP into Rhino.

Wouldnt the STEP file transform the model into a mesh? It makes it really hard to do any kind of rendering in Vray. Generally you want to preserve the NURBS or Tspline surfaces during the transfer

No STEP and IGES are surface bases formats / containers while OBJ STL are used traditionally to transport polygon based mesh models.

STEP is really the go to format send raw CAD data between apps.

No worries. OBJ can also contain NURBS but realistically OBJ is mainly used for mesh transfer incl UV maps and material definition and STL well just for 3D printing.
