Fusion 360 - MakeTime Integration Tutorial | Design to Production in the Cloud

Full disclosure - I work for MakeTime and I am new to the Autodesk community. However, the Autodesk community has been extremely kind to us at MakeTime and I wanted to share this brief tutorial and video on how to use our Fusion 360 integration to seamlessly move from design to production of CNC machined parts.

MakeTime’s platform is integrated with Autodesk’s Fusion 360, so users designing inside the cloud-based platform can seamlessly bring their design files to production with little more than the push of a button.

To Begin, open your DFM (Design For Manufacturability) ready model in Autodesk Fusion 360. Then, from within the Fusion 360 interface, switch from "sculpt" to "model" mode.

Select "Make" and "Get Parts Made With MakeTime."

This will prompt a pop-up where you can fill in your contact information, select the part you wish to have made, give the part a name or number, determine the number of parts to make, and provide the material type and grade. When finished, click "Make It."

You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions to log into or sign up for a MakeTime account using the same email from before. Once your part is finished being analyzed for manufacturability, you can add it to an order, and send it off to production. It's that simple.

Check out the following video to see how easy it is to get parts made with MakeTime from inside Fusion 360. You’ll also get a sneak peek at what the platform will look like once MakeTime is fully integrated with Autodesk 360, which will offer full parts library syncing and some other amazing features we will be talking about soon. Thank you!
