Fusion 360 locks up!

I tried to insert a bolt form McMaster-Carr and Fusion 360 locked up.

I had to force shut down in the task manager.

I tried STEP and SAT with the same result.

I tried a nut and a bolt with the same result.

Is there an issue with Mcmaster-Carr?

Hey guys - I just tried reproducing on my end and not seeing any issues.  Would you mind trying to capture with a Screencast?  Also, are you on Windows or Mac?

You'll notice in the lower right corner the "downloading" but it locks right there.  Have to force shut down from task manager.

I don't think I will be able to get a screen capture but will try.

A few of us have tried it and cannot reproduce the problem. We need to determine the scope of the problem.

  • Has this worked for you in the past?
  • Has anything changed, or is this a new network environment or something?
  • What version of Windows are you using?

Things to try:

  1. Restart your computer, try again.
  2. Turn off anti-virus, or anything that might interfere with the download, try again.

Yes it worked not to long ago.

We have switched from Verizon to Comcast.

  • What version of Windows are you using?

 Winows 7 Pro.

Tried a restart a few times.. will try shutting off anti-virus.

@EdDRM and @JayCampbell7952

I've sent you private messages regarding getting some diagnostic information about these crash events. Thanks.

Another question about your network:

Since you report changing networks there may be an answer in that. Does Comcast use ghost proxies?

Thanks,

I could call the sales rep. tomorrow and find out if needed.

Thanks for the help

From your logs, it doesn't seem to be a network problem. Thanks for sending those.

Next we have to find out why your Fusion installation is locking on the import of STEP.

Can you try this link to get a STEP file from McMaster-Carr?

 http://www.mcmaster.com/mvA/library/20100824/5905K260.STEP

Once it downloads, go to the file menu of Fusion (piece of paper icon, upper left), pick New Design from File, and open the STEP file. What happens?

Thanks,

Okay, that eliminates more things. Thanks.

What this tells me, and you have already pointed this out (before we eliminated some variables) is that the handoff from McMaster-Carr via that web window in Fusion is hanging. I'm waiting for more ideas from our engineers.

What is your default web browser?

Thanks,
