Fusion 360 - Feedback

To Developers,

I'm a hairy arsed nearly 50 year old bloke who has lived with and developed IT systems for the past 30+ years. I have never never before tried to use a piece of software which has brought me virtually to tears (honestly) with frustration as the GUI and lack of command feedback as Fusion360.

Since college If have used AutoCAD and the command interface was such a joy to use. It prompted you what to do, gave meaningful messages when you did something wrong and generally made your life easy none of which applies to F360, if you ran into problems the (offline) help was second to none.

Before anyone says please post to the forum the problem I cant its everything. No matter how many times I look at youtube videos etc I cant do the things I want to do.

This rant is because now I have a rectangle which I am trying to edit (offset) no matter what I try is doesn't want to play and it doesn't tell me why.

The problem seems the people who develop this are so knowledgeable they forget the basics, they seem to be so caught up in the own world they forget about the user who wasn't in the design briefing room and wasn't in on the joke. Your software is not intuitive to use and certainly doesn't help you with the order of commands.

Matt

Export is how you save locally. If you want to work offline, cache the project. Or go into your preferences and change the amount of time for auto caching. A360 allows you to see your deleted files and move files between projects very easily. So what's the issue?
Every single software company is moving to the cloud. They're all forcing us to have annual subscriptions rather than installing legacy software. This is the way of the technological world.

Rant - why is it with every field entry in a dialog box in Fusion 360 where you have to enter a value, it doesn't automatically highlight the entire field when you first click on it? Like if I am going to enter a value in for a radius, when I click the field, it just plops the cursor in there wherever. Then I have to click again and try to drag the cursor to select the entire value to replace it with my entry. It's like I am playing an annoying game with Fusion 360 where it tries to keep me from selecting the entire value, and I'm frantically clicking, cussing, dragging, and being frustrated trying to do something that should have been a single click followed by me typing in a value.

Why is Fusion not like EVERY OTHER PROGRAM since the 90's where as soon as you click a field - "THE ENTIRE VALUE IS HIGHLIGHTED" and your cursor sits patiently waiting at the end of the value, so in case you just want to change part of the value you can simly cursor right to unhighlight the value, then backspace.

This is how it works in Photoshop, Solidworks, Video editing software, setting a timer on your phone, clicking a field on a web page, etc. Why is it not that way with Fusion????

Come on guys! This has been going on FAR too long.
