every time it starts up it gets to the large screen loading window then pops up a window that says "The application has encountered an unexpected authentication error and must be quit. To fix this problem, please try the solutions provided on similar reports on the fusion 360 support site and restart the application. If this problem persists, please provide details on the fusion 360 support site so that we can help diagnose and resolve the issue." I tried every idea on the linked support site (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Net... but none have worked.

Hi Nate,

after running fusion for a couple of months without any difficulties now I have exactly the same problem.

I have already tried all the suggestions in the link you referred to. None of them fixed it...

Hi Michael,

Really sorry that you are running into this problem. Can I request you to send me your application log files, so we can examine them for any clues?

If you are running on Windows, you can find the log files at C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\<Autodesk user id>\logs

If you are running on Mac, you can find the log files at ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/logs

Please zip up the folder and send it to me directly at Saurabh.Akolkar@autodesk.com

Regards,

Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

thanks for taking care!

Our IT department fixed my problem yesterday. Most likely it was related to the proxy server I have to use when connecting to the internet.

With a permanent IP address temporarily assigned to my computer Fusion started with no problems (and did some data exchange?). After returning to the proxy server and changing the network proxy settings to "override" the Programm continued to start and run properly.

I will send the log files in e separate mail to you...

best regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for following up on this and for sending your log files. I am really glad to hear that Fusion 360 is up and running on your system. We will be sure to examine the log files further to see if we can improve our handling of the network scenario that you had in your setup.

Thanks for your continued use of Fusion 360 and please don't hesitate to reach back to us should you need any further assistance.

Regards,

Saurabh

Sorry for taking so long, and thanks for the quick response. It turns out my computer had a virus, upon removal fusion works fine.

Although you may want to change the link presented by the popup to this one: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fus... just becuase it seems more specific to the problem.
