Fusion 360 - crash on boot

Seems repeatable.  I get the spinning wheel in the data panel looking like it's happily loading my projects......forever.  Can't close the program, can't do anything.  Finally I go to the task manager in windows 10 and kill the task, fire up Fusion 360 again....same thing.

So, I go off to the Autodesk site figuring I will maybe find out something.

I click on the "blog" tab  and I get a "403 Forbidden" page !

Whaaaaa??????

I just read an article in the news about the slow demise of Sears ....surely the two events can't be related.....did Sears buy Autodesk ?  Just sayin.....

Hope it can all be sorted out soon.....

ok  - so I just left the data panel wheel spinning and went off to another window and did something else (continued reading about the demise of Sears).  After about 8+ minutes I went back to the Fusion window and it seems to have loaded and all works fine.  A bit annoying though.  Surely this is not proper behavior.....  Anyway, I can continue with my preparation for the Fusion 360 class at the local makerspace so I'm happy now.....

Hi @Anonymous,

Glad to hear it is working again! Just to check - is it consistently working again? I am curious if you were having a network issue for a little bit there. For instance - it is odd that you could not connect to the data panel (which is cloud servers) as well as getting a 403 error on our Autodesk webpage. Both sites are controlled by the Autodesk domain. Just to check - what sort of network were you on? For instance was it your home network or a public network?

Feel free to reach back out if this issue comes back and we can take a deeper look! If it does, please post your diagnostic log files as well from the Help menu.

Thanks,

Hi James - I am on a university wifi network but it's rock solid and there's a BIG pipe as far as bandwidth.  I will let you know if it crops up again, but when it did happen and I got the blog site error(which I am still getting) I had no issues with your learning section and in fact was going though some of the F360 videos as I waited for the program to sort itself out.  Will report back if things go off the rails again.  I'm preparing to teach a Fusion class tomorrow at the local Makerspace so am hurrying to get ready at the moment.  Thanks for the quick response to my posting  !

Back again - just to report all seems well now.  I can even get to the blog site again.  That must have been some weird thing with the university network I'm on - maybe it thought I was going to a porn site or something - lol

I've ticked this thread off as solved so it's not "dangling in free space" so to speak.

Carry on everyone and happy Fusion 360-ing !

Hey Lewis - lol on the no-no site, but that issue was actually on our end yesterday.  Our blog went down for a fairly length period of time, took a bit to get it fixed, but as you now see we're back in business.
