Fusion 360 CAM and nesting

Hey guys,

I was checking out Fusion 360 for it's CAM features, and while it's certainly a very powerful program, I need some software that can take my drawings and give me the ability to nest them onto a work area.

For example, let's say that my stock is 24"x48", and I want to place multiple drawings on that sheet. Am I able to do this with Fusion 360 CAM? Or, should I be looking elsewhere for this sort of support?

Our business is a startup, and we need some inexpensive software that can give us some basic nesting capabilities. I tried Fusion last night, went through the tutorial and learned how to create a toolpath. However, this was only with one part, and I need the ability to have miltiple parts on one stock piece. Is this possible with Fusion?

Yeah it sounds like the Patterns option would solve all of these problems. Very cool, and I hope we get to see it in Fusion.

Agreed.  Jeff Waters couldn't say it any better.  Component Pattern functionality from HSMWorks will be a great addition to CAM for Fusion 360.

Best,

I just want to add that there is still a lot of work to get done and the developers ARE flat out trying to get all 3 products on the same level. Point being give them the time and you will get the tools.

I'm not unsympathetic to their plight, it must feel like a mountainous job! I'm excited to see where we go from here 🙂

Can someone please post a 'best practices' video for doing multiples of the same part quickly in Fusion CAM? We do 4-8 parts at a time and this is the only thing stopping us from totally dropping Mastercam and SolidEdge

Component Partnes most likely are what you are after that said?

Are you looking to post all 8 parts and one WCS in one block of stock or have a new WCS for each part ie. G54, G55, G56?

If you want a new WCS for each part you can do that now in the job setup using the Mutiple WCS option.

Enabling tool sorting will save cycle time by reducing toolchanges

I tried doing this from the beginning, but was told my post didn't support this option. Many sad faces resulted.

That should be an easy fix as long as your machine supports multiple work offsets.

What post are you using?

This software is not useful for volume production.

Does aybyody knows if there is any plans for nesting and labeling parts for wood Industy? So far program works great for creating cusom projects but without auto nesting and labeling is very limited.

it is in our backlog.  But, it isn't somethign you should expect to see in the next 3 months.

As I am sure many of you know, we have a product Autodesk TruNest we are looking to leverage for this.
