Fully contraint components from an assembly move when inserted or multiplied

Hi,

I often face this problem that when i have created an assemlby(with fully contraint components) that the components move radomly when: inserted into a new assembly or multiplied(pattern).

Some times the components jump back to the original location but also often not.

If anybody has advice please help.

Best,

Maarten

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

two things to be aware of (not sure if these are related to your problem or not, until we can see your models)

  1. ground does not come across when a design is inserted
  2. if the design is saved with "capture position pending":

that uncaptured position can be ignored on insert, which can cause components to move back to their home positions

or, it could be a bug...

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for your reply
Could I share your model with you directly as I can't share the model with everybody on the forum?

Best,
Maarten

certainly.  If you have a commercial license, then Share Public Link is the easiest way:

making sure that "allow download" is on, get the link and you can DM it to me here on the forum.  If you have a Personal license, then the best way is to export the design as a "Fusion Archive (F3Z)", and either put it on some file-sharing site, or, if it is small enough, just email it to me at jeff.strater@autodesk.com.  Thanks!

@jeff_strater I've seen this in my own assemblies as well and believe this is a bug.

The assembly is usually fine as a "compute all" takes care of it.

Sorry for the delay in replying.  Thank you for sharing the design, @Anonymous.  However, I don't see the same behavior.  Am I doing something differently?  The design is slightly different than in your video, but I'm wondering what else might be different.
