Freeze Toolbar Customization

Is there a way to freeze the current customization of the toolbars?

When working on a slower machine it regularly happens that when I select a tool from the toolbar and then move away quickly the mouse button release is not processed in time I instead of using the selected tool it gets dragged off the toolbar.

Would be nize if there were an option to freeze any customization (e.g. in the General Preferences tab) to prevent this reoccuring headache.

I cannot tell you how to freeze it but I can direct you to the XML file that contains you toolbar settings.  You can save the file to a safe place and then replace the original if something gets messed up in your toolbars.  I can only give you a Windows path to the file as I do not use a MAC based system.  The file you are looking to copy and save to a safe place is called NGlobalOptions.xml and is found in the Window file path shown below.  You will substitute the "jhack" with your Windows username.

Thanks for that suggestion. It helps when the toolbar gets jumbled up a lot.

However, I just find it too easy to accidentally remove a tool from the toolbar and when that happens my workflow is broken.

No matter how easy it is to undo the mistake.

Hence it would be a nice feature to have a way to prevent it from happening in the first place.
