Fluid volume option difficulties

Hello,

Im trying to use the Internal fluid volume command. Per the documentation Here:  https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-99DD0AA5-F369-4814-A874-AD6605D58626

The fluid volume command should eb available in the design/solid/create. I can only find it in the simulation work space. Do i need to enable something separate?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @jason.normanTTEKR ,

Turn of Capture design history and go to design/solid/create.

Right click on top level Model and Select Do not capture Design history.

This worked for me.

Is there a reason why this is necessary? What else does turning off Design history enable. Is there any advantage to doing this all the time?

If you would like to find the volume at any level in a particular container and NOT have to kill you Design History (timeline) use the method I outline in the Screencast.  It only takes a minute to do and preserves you valuable design history.

From looking at a couple of different posts, it seems there's confusion here because the "Fluid volume" command has been removed or is somehow not usable with design history. If so, Autodesk should clarify this; turning off design history is not a reasonable expectation.

Also, the property "ouncemass" is confusing enough relative to fluid ounces that I really wish there were an option to see specific fluid volume (whether ml, fl oz, etc).
