Flattening existing sheetmetal model from step file

I need to flatten an existing sheetmetal design model using sheet metal functions.

I tried several suggestions by this forum but this model does not flatten and I get an error that does not explain much.

How do I ensure a valid SM body that keeps opposite faces separate?

Thanks,

John

Your imported STEP file may have been converted to sheet metal but it does not contain any sheet metal bend information so it will not upfold.  You can use your model to model a new sheet metal model, using Fusion 360, commands but that is probably all you can do with this model.

I will not take you long to remodel your body using sheet metal rules.  I have attached my remodel up to the point of adding the holes just to give you a start.  Model is attached.
