Flattened Pattern to step

Can anyone help me with a work around? It seems that Fusion will not export a flattened pattern to a step. This is necessary to inspect the laser cut piece before bending used laser scanner.

File > Export >   select STEP !

Will 'Save as Mesh' give you a result you can use?

Here is the mesh imported back into the original file.

Accepted solution

A Flat Pattern, as you  say, not export to a STEP but a sheet metal model, that is in an Unfold state will.  The Screencast will explain.

@jhackney1972 's exporting from unfold is easier, but you can also export from flat pattern. In a new file you can insert flat pattern as Derive (select Flat Pattern from Browser):

 

Derive from flat pattern.png

 

Insert Derive brings flat pattern body to the new file. Now export from this file:

 

Derived Flat Pattern.png
