Fix 2D drawing bug!

Hi!

Im currently using the 2D drawing function and have run in to two major bugs/problems.

First one:

When i have created  one drawing of a part and put all the measurements in as i want I save it and close it. After this it se that i have missed that the (for example) radius on one edge is wrong, I simply change it and save it again. When i then open up the drawing for the part again and press update links or what ever it is called the view of the part disappears and leaves a red rectangle around it. This is super anooying and forces me to do it all over again. Skärmbild (1).png

Last thing is that sometimes when open up the 2D drawing tool and are supposed to place the first view on the sheet there is nothing there? the part is not visual but every thing else. I noticed that if i reboot fusion the problem disappears but this is so annoying to be forced to close all open files and reboot, happen on a regular day 4-5 times.

 Hi Edwin,

Sorry to hear you're having this problem.  I'm hoping you can provide a little more information on the system you are using.  We identified a problem where certain system locales that use a comma as the decimal separator (for example Czech) will show this problem when certain views are updated.  Are you using XRrefs in your design?  It looks like you are on Windows, What is the OS and system locale?  We are testing this fix in-house now, but it would be good to verify whether this is the same scenario or not.

For the 2nd issue, it sounds like you see the preview but then when you close the drawing view dialog the view disappears?  Is it instead appearing as the same type of empty red box but in the lower left corner of the drawing?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi! for starters im running windows 10 and i am located in Sweden.

Not relly sure what you meen by If im using XRefs?

2nd:

When I start making a drawing for the first time of the day. I get this

the sheet appears,

the dialog box where i select views appear

but not the view of the model.

i can see the little grey box at the arrow but no image of the part.

This problem accours from time to time. This is not proven in any way but to me it seems that after having done the first drawing for the day and starting on the next part this problem accours. But a reboot fixes it.

Let me know what information I can give you have I will do my best to do so!

Regards

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

Thank you for the information.  By "XRefs" I mean a design where other components are inserted, if your design has Xref's you'll see these icons in the browser when you have the design open:

xrefs.png

From our internal testing this empty red box after update problem seemed more prevalent when xrefs were involved.

I just retested this on Win10 (set to Swedish settings with comma decimal separators) and I could reproduce the problem.  This looks fixed in the newest in-house build.  We have plans to release this fix in the next update, please let me know if you continue to see this issue after the next update.  Apologies for the extra work and any inconvenience this has caused.

Thanks,
Chris

To explain the second issue here is a screenshot. So this is when creating a drawing for the first time, There is no view of the object and and to solve this reboot is the only solution. Crap bag ..

Hi Edwin,

This could be another symptom of the same issue we found with the decimal separator, but I haven't seen this happen in-house.  Looking at your screen capture, it looks like you are on Windows.  What OS?  Typically if I see a problem with the preview not appearing it points to an out of date video card driver, but if this was the case a reboot wouldn't help.  Please check it again after the next update and let me know if this keeps happening.

Thanks,
Chris
