Finding Measurement

Hi all,

I'm fairly new to Fusion, in the past I've used Sketchup. In Sketchup there is a mesuring tape tool that tells you how far away from the start of the mesurment you are. Is there anything like that in Fusion? how would I mark the exact place to start my shape?

Thanks, Caleb

I don't think  Fusion has any equivalent of Tape Measuring tool of Sektchup, which i guess you could mark a start point and move the tool to find how far you are away from the first point. Fusion has a measure tool which is used to measure distance/angle between selected entities (depending on the entity selected). This measuring tool can also be used inside any command to measure and apply the measured value as input.

Hello Caleb,

there are more ways how to reach the final result. One of them is to create sketch on plane, which is parallel to face and driven by distance.

The sketch itself allows you to project existing geometry and using dimension drive exact location of new geometry. Please look at attached video.

Another way how to assemble to drive distance is for example using move, or joints. Please let me know if you need more information about it.

regards

Martin
