Finding Constraint Errors in an Assembly

I have a relatively complicated assembly - It's a cable operated shifter assembly for a vehicle.  Obviously, there are multiple locations where the shifter needs to be.  I know where the transmission components need to be, so I'm using a motion study driven by those to drive the linkages, cables and the shifter.  The assembly does not want to go into all positions in the motion study and if i stop it at these offending spots and exit the motion study, I get an error "Cannot resolve some component positions because there are conflicts with assembly relationships in the design.  Inspect existing joints, rigid groups, or tangent relationships."

I don't see which particular joints are conflicting.  Is there a way to see these?  There are many joints so it's not obvious just looking at the model which ones bind.  It would be really nice to for the problem ones to be highlighted or listed in the error message.

A related question is if the motion study is ideal for looking at the design.  There are the 7 engaged positions along with multiple neutral positions.  Total about a dozen different positions that need to be looked at.  I don't need to see the parts in motion.  Is there a way to easily have the parts move into these dozen positions, or is setting up the motion study the best?

I don't see which particular joints are conflicting.

Strange - when visible, conflicted joints are red in the design window (red flags), and Joints folder highlighted with big red blobs.

Motion Study? - I would likely be using a diagram in a sketch where dimensions supply the details required.

Might help...
