Feature Request: create user parameters on the fly

I'd love to be able to create a user parameter on the fly. I imagine it working like this:

I'm typing a value into a parameter field somewhere (e.g. a dimension constraint), and I type the name of a non-existent user parameter. Right now, it just turns red and fails to do anything. Instead, it should pop up a dialog that offers to create the user parameter with that name (editable), and specify all the relevant metaparameters (units, description, etc.).

Might be nice to have a list of spelling alternatives for existing parameters too, in case I just mistyped something.

“Parameter name = value”

creates a Favourite parameter, units are derived from the dimension type, length or angle.

Might help.....

You can do this now.  In the process you described in your post you stopped a little too early in your process.  As you type in your dynamic dimension, while creating your sketch, type the parameter name and then add an "=" sign and continue with the value.  This will create a parameter with the value in the parameter table.  There is one down side to this method, the "fx" label is not added to the sketch dimension to indicate it is a parametric value but it will still linked and will change when the parameter table is update.

Edit - seems like it works as it should, not sure how I ended up needing to save - must be something I did wrong.

For anyone else that lands here and finds @jhackney1972's correct answer, one last tidbit:

When you dynamically add a parameter by typing param_name=value, you have to save the document before you can access the new parameter elsewhere.

Not in my experience. They are available to the design as soon as they are created.

Huh.  I checked it a couple times, but just did a new Design and it works as expected without saving.

Maybe I was in the wrong place or something.  I will try to recreate the workflow later, but yeah - seems my answer is off - I will correct it.
