Extrusions and Bodies

Hi,

When I am doing an extrusion, shouldn't I get a new body showing up in the browser? With my first two extrusions, a new body shows in the browser. On my third extrusion, there is no body, but the model shows it was completed.

Ths may be a silly question, but in the Extrude options, were you chooing "New Body", "Join"?

Sometimes, when making an extrude that interferes with another part, the extrude command automatically changes to "Cut". Then, you will still have two bodies, despite creating a third extrude.

Or, if the new extrusion touches either (or both) of the previously created bodies, it will "Join" them, basically attaching tehm together, so you would end up having two bodies despite making a third extrude.

In this case, it seems you want to "Edit" your third extrude and make sure it is "New Body", not "Join" or "Cut".

Thanks!

I think you are right! If I select "New Body" when I extrude the holes, I end up with several new bodies, which is not what I want. I will just use "Cut" to extrude the holes.

Thanks!
