Extrude up to a curved surface

Found some solutions here but they don't see to be working for me.  I'm trying to move a hole that goes through a curved surface in a step file I received.  I created a construction plane and drew where I want the hole to be.  But when trying to delete the existing hole, because the surface is curved, I can't use distance and "to object" does not work.  I'll attach a pic of the problem area and an f3d file.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks, Scot

here's a screen cast of an approach.

FYI-both windows machines and Macs have screen clipping software built in.  get a much clearer pic to post that way.  and tim berners-lee sleeps better too.

Thank you, guys.  Aliobidi, I see it's fixed but I don't see how you did it.  Can you tell me so I can understand?

Laughingcreek, thank you, I didn't think of that approach.  That was much more elegant.  Since I am always trying to learn more about Fusion, is there a way to extrude up to a curved surface?  This one is round and also sloped...not sure what the proper way to describe that?
