Extract a 2D shape from a 3D object

Hello!

I am trying to get a 2D shape to make a CNC cut file for some paneling, however all I currently have is the 3D object face. Is there a way to extract this shape from the 3D shape and lay it out as a 2D sketch? The panels are thin acrylic material which will bend around the contour once installed. See attached file!

Thanks!

Hi,

If the elements are multi-curved, it is not possible to create a flat pattern.

If, lets say, the top and bottom lines of the "rectangle-ish" are straight, and the two sides of the "rectangle-ish" panels are curved, is this possible? I am trying to cover a 84in radius half-sphere in (12) clear acrylic panels and it does not need to appear extremely correct at the seams if that makes sense.
