Exporting to IGES or STEP fail

Hi there,

I recently was given a max file to export as a iges or step file. I exported it from Max as a obj, imported it to fusion then exported as iges and step file. Either results are showing the the file is very low in size such as 4kb. And any iges or step viewer reports an error with the file. What am I doing wrong? It is a solid model as shown in the image. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The image clearly shows a mesh model, not a solid model.

so the first tip is to turn off autotriangulation in the preferences in the mesh section.

Hopefully the export from 3DSmax is a clean quad mesh. With the autotriangulation turned off you should be able to convert this into a T-Spline and then into a Brep. Then you have a solid model that can be exported to IGES

Thanks for the response. I'll have a deeper look at the file. I'm very to fusion. Much appreciated.
