Exporting model from fusion with individual face materials - hobby version

I have been trying to find a concrete answer to this question - and I can find posts from 3-4 years ago suggesting Fusion cannot do this at all... But then I have found other topics suggesting it is possible but no concrete answers how or why it may not work in some circumstances.

Basically I have a solid that I have applied materials to faces on the model. If I export as obj it has a material file, but this only includes the base material applied to the body - not the materials applied to faces. If I understand correctly this may be because Fusion cannot create a texture map.

However any solid body files (such as step) also do not export with any material information. If I reimport an exported step file it has no material properties.

I'm happy to use other applications as an intermediary step if this is possible. But I am essentially trying to get from a solid body in fusion to an obj or wrl file for importing into another application. Hopefully without having to redo the materials manually.

Hi,

It is possible to export fusion models as obj files but I don't specifically know what information is included in them.

It is also possible to export step files and other formats.

The Product documentation will tell you and probably have embedded tutorials how from here.

Thanks, but unfortunately none of these will export materials applied to faces. The .obj export seems to apply one base material but no more.
