Exporting DXF file ?

Hello,

I have recently started with Fusion360.  When viewing online info I notice that there are ways to export as a DXF for drawings. I need these for the CAM software I use.

My Fusion is not allowing such, yet the Autodesk blog shows it as possible.

(   https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/tip-tuesday-making-it-real-exporting-dxf-and-stl-f... )

Please see below screenshot.

Also The "Output" button on the upper ribbon only does PDF DWG CSV, not DXF.  I am attempting these from a 2d drawing of a 3d object as one normally would.

Thanks,

Eric

Just export the sketch from the Model workspace, not from a Drawing.

That is a partial solution, yet when I have multiple sketches on a face, not one of them represents the entire face, thus making the intended task of CAM machining a challenge.  Is there a way to pull the entire 'face view' into a DXF?

Check Preferences|General|Design|Auto project geometry on active sketch plane.  Start a new sketch on the face.  This will bring all of the features on that face into the sketch.   You can also project the desired features into a new sketch when Auto project is unchecked.

OK, that was selected, and I made the sketch on the face, recovered most features, thx.  Now the perimeter has islands right up to the edge, they are not rendered. I can cut off 0.001" in the design as a workaround, but there should be a proper way of doing it?  Below are images of what I mean. My work often has islands meeting edges.

You'll need to project those island features manually.  If you had selected the face of the upper right island for the initial sketch, projecting the main face would have completed the sketch.

Have you considered using the built-in Fusion 360 CAM tools?

I gave up on EstlCAM. It has it's own merits, but am using Fusion360 exclusively now and glad I made the switch.  Thx.
