Export problem

Hello,

I have made a sketch in Fusion 360. it is a top view of something I want to CNC at a friend's machine.

I want to export this to Solidworks since that is what he uses and tried all the export formats in Fusion itself as well on the cloud web page of autodesk.

The only file that had something more than a few lines of text as a result was the dxf format,

Is this a bug, something wrong with my modelling or something else?

Please help, since I don't want to model it all over.

extrude the sketch into a 3d object.

then under file/export choose step file.

SW can handle it no problem

Thank you very much for that answer. Of all the possibilities I tried, this was not one of them.

Works as advertised 🙂

Gcode generated and test pass tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Just out of curiosity have you tried using the CAM built into Fusion?  It works great and I have used it on a tormach, shopbot and torchmate.  I highly recommend it.

I have asked the friend if that is something we could try.

For him his computer is too old (32 bit) to run Fusion and he is a Linux guy.

He is used to his workflow but I wanted to do sketching myself.

So maybe in the future we will go that direction, since I tried it and I think I can work out how it works.

But for his CNC machine everything works already with his workflow so for the moment I have to stick with that.

Thanks for the heads up.
