Export in fusion 360 2d drawing into pdf ready to print in scale

Hello Community,

Recently I have decided to make an RC boat, making the case out of 2mm foam. Recently encounter the problem not being able to continue with the project. Designed the sketches I realized that going File > Export there was no PDF format. knowingly that in AutoCad is possible to export in that way. If there is similar ways to do the same process if fusion 360 please let me know.

Thank You,

Ariel.

@Anonymous, looks to me as though you are trying to export a sketch only to a PDF? At present I don't think this can be achieved - perhaps post this as an idea to IdeaStation as it has some merit.

To get around this at the moment I think you only really have one option. First give every sketch a nominal thickness using the Press/Pull or Extrude command (it doesn't matter how much) and then using the environment drop down at the top left go to the Drawing option and select "From Design". This will then create a new drawing page for you and you can place all of these pieces in as a "Base View" which can be scaled to your desire and this can then be exported to PDF.

If you need some more help on this let me know.

David

Hello David,

I've used the method you described many times to create to-scale drawings by exporting to PDF. As of today, my most recent drawings refuse to save when exported as a pdf. I have control over their save location, but after saving, the files do not appear in the intended folder (or any for that matter). I have tried saving to icloud, hard drive and usb drives. Any suggestions on how to fix this? (Work is on a 13inch macbook pro with the latest version of fusion360)

Best Wishes,

Tommy

Hi,

There is a problem with creating PDF's on our Mac App Store version.  We are working on getting a fix ASAP, until then please read this thread for information on how to get the .com version of Fusion 360 from our website. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/drawing-will-not-make-pdf/td-p/6940657  This version does not have that issue.
