my last post created another question for me. How do i create equal spacing on the EDGE of each circle? i know it involves constraints, but i just cant figure it out.

Use a Dimension, when you do the first one make a note of its label name.  eg D19 or Dxx or similar

Dimension the circles to be D19 apart, by typng in D19, fusion will substitute the real value for you.

If you had individual lines between the circles then they can all be made Equal with constraints.

Might help....

no, you lost me,lol. i fixed the image, hopefully that clears more up. if the circles were the same size it would be easy, because i could equally space from the center of each circle. being they are all different size, im not sure how to go about that.

The image is not clear here,

Is there one line for the top of the tray?  If so it will be the dimension version, to slide the circles along as you go.

If there are individual lines between the circles, then you make each one Equal to the first one, this will push the circles apart.

Might help....

Here's what I did earlier:

  1. Trim the circle center line in each circle (removes the line segments).
  2. Dimension each line segment between the circles to a User parameter. (I created a User parameter set to 3mm.)
  3. Constrain the two end line segments to be equal.
  4. Dimension the bottom line to the desired width (You may need to remove the current 300mm dimension first).

You'll probably want to draw another line below the current center line to make it easier to remove the sockets.  If so make the current center line a construction line before doing step #1.  The new line does not need to be trimmed.

@jhipple86, I think you want to use tangent dimensions on the circles.  Like this:

start the dimension command, right click, and choose "pick circle/arc tangent":

this will allow you to dimension to the tangent points of the circles. Then, just use a formula to determine what the spacing should be, and set each spacing to that same amount.  Here's a screencast:

How do you pick circle/arc tangent without have to right click every time you want to use it? It doesn't seem like you do that in the screencast.
