I have been working on learning Fusion and have come across an issue that I cannot seem to find any solution for. I accidentally created an extrusion as a body in my top level assembly and after getting a few other components completed I realised my mistake.... no big deal, just right click and convert body to component. So far so good. But then after working more on my assembly I realised I was going to have to add some tolerance between my parts for movement and was able to find the original extrusion of the body in the top level of the assembly timeline where the body was originally located before I converted it to a component and went to edit the feature (extrusion) with an offset to the sketch plane. Before I hit "OK" the preview view of the model shows exactly what I want it to do, but when I hit okay, the component does NOT update with the offset. I can not seem to edit the component in any way and the timeline for the component is only the "convert body to component".
Is there some way that I can pull the original extrusion in my timeline down into the component level so that it can update or is there another way that I accomplish updating the model?
Thanks for the help!
Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
I have attached the .f3d file. There are two components that I am trying to add the offset extrude to to space them slightly away from the adjacent component. They are "Pivot Support" within the "Top" assembly and "movable leg" within the "move seat" assembly. Both of these I made the mistake of extruding a body before creating a component and neither of them will update. Let me know if you need any additional clarification.
I think I figured out my own problem after not hearing from anyone. Even though the extrudes were updating, it was not showing up in the top assembly because the rotation joint must have been overriding the extrusion. After going into the rotation joint and offsetting the planar faces I was able to get the spacing that I was looking for. Maybe this will help someone else.
