For any reason it looks like enntities on layer "1" are displayed as "construction lines"...

Could it be possibel to edit this property?

if it's not possible to modify this behavior in the software which generate those DXF?

Many Thanks

Hi Jean-Michel,

I could be wrong but I don't think Fusion dictates the behavior. It seems that the layer 1 line type in the exporting drawing is set to construction line type. Or the template used to export the DXF is set as such. You may verify it by opening the dxf file in DWG TrueView or viewer.autodesk.com.

What system does the dxf file come from? Could you share it here? I might be able to take a look to understand the issue better.

Many thanks!

@jean-michel_legoff

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I think I have an easy solution - but would need to see the actual file.

Hi,

here some files,

you may see that it's not depending of the originator (RCS, ZW CAd or Illustrator)...
as long as entities are on a layer called "1" Fusion attributes the type "Construction"...

It should be valuable to be able to modify this behavior, either in a "preference" or as an option in the import Dialog.

@jean-michel_legoff

Select Edit Sketch

Window select, crossing window select or Ctrl select the construction geometry that you would like to change the property.

Right click and toggle Normal/Construction

Another alternative would be to P project into a new sketch.

I just tried with your files and works fine for me.

Hi,

yes I know that it is possible to edit this property, The issue is not there…

the issue is that this behavior is not expected and comes in Fusion I don’t know when… and found it a little enjoying to can’t revert to the original one.

Do you have access to AutoCAD?

Yes, may be, but I don't see what it will change...

I don't want to open the RCS DXF file in a Trd party software only to rename the "1" in anything else...
I need a pref in Fusion where I can name the "construction layer" to 1 or any aother name, or deactivate this "remaping" feature

@johnsonshiue Although Fusion exports to Layer1 and sets the line type to construction, with imports everything on layer 1 comes in as construction lines. This has caused problems with some add ins that used layer 1.

I didn't fully understand the issue as a Layer induced issue.

I was going to suggest running the List (LI) command on the lines that convert to construction in AutoCAD to see what properties they had different than the other lines.

there are no properties applied in the lines of the file.

for exemple in the "untitled-1_AI" file coming from Illustrator all the profiles have the same properties, only the circle is on a layer called "1"

and in the opposite way

exporting a sketch from Fusion where the "circle" is set as "construction line"

in Illustrator it opens with all on the layer "0" and only the "circle" on Layer "1"
