Easier way to work offline?

There is almost once per week where I open F360 and it is offline for mx and I cannot open my projects.  After a bit of research I started exporting the projects to my local machine but it is a bit cumbersome to do constantly.  I have also tried the option add the project to offline cache but that doesn't seem to do anything.

I would much prefer to base my projects on my local machine for speed issues if nothing else.  I understand the "big brother" reasons for clouding everything now days but is there an option to only use the cloud as a backup and primarily store data locally?

EDIT:  I do know about the working offline mode (http://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID-FCB6E122-1552-4434-AC4B-7B227AB31BAC) but comes with the limitations and requirement to go back online.  I have no problem being online, would actually prefer to keep it that way...I just want to be able to access my projects during maintenance or an outage.

@Anonymous - there is no way to "only use the cloud as a backup and primarily store data locally".  However, one thing that can help is to mark the designs that you are currently working on as "available offline", meaning:  you should always be able to access those designs, even if you are off the internet or the Fusion service is down for maintenance.  In the data panel, right click on a design and choose "add to offline cache":

Thanks. I have been doing that but it didn't work last weekend. The only thing I have found that did was to export the project locally then open it later. It's just cumbersome.

How is that workflow, cumbersome?  Works for me to send demos to the Forum.

you have to mark the design for cacheing while you are online - it's like buying insurance - you have to buy the insurance before you have an accident...  If you were online at the time, and this did not work, then we need to know this, because it indicates a problem with this functionality

Correct. I was online when I triggered the cache.

Exporting works fine, it's just a lot of steps for something that is traditionally a ctrl-s.

Not trying to complain, just seeing if there was something I was missing.
