Hi Fusion Community,

We’ve been making progress on bringing API capabilities to Fusion Simulation. We are ready to provide early visibility into where we are headed through the Fusion Insider program.

Where we are today:

  1. Simulation API – We are actively working on expanding API access to Fusion Simulation capabilities, with the goal of enabling new ways to automate and integrate simulation into your design workflows.
  2. Fusion Insider access – A limited scope of the Simulation API is currently available through the Fusion Insider program, giving you an opportunity to start exploring these capabilities and provide early feedback.
  3. Looking ahead to agentic workflows – As agentic design workflows evolve, we see simulation playing an important role. We want to better understand what you expect from simulation in these workflows and what capabilities would be most valuable.

We’d especially like to hear from you:

  1. How would you take advantage of a Fusion Simulation API?
  2. What workflows would you automate?
  3. And looking further ahead, how do you expect simulation to be used as part of agentic design workflows?

Your feedback will help us better understand the use cases and capabilities that matter most as we continue developing the Simulation API.

If you’re already a Fusion Insider, you can start here to learn more, try out what’s available today, and join the discussion. If you’re not already a member of the Fusion Insider community, we invite you to join us and explore the Simulation API capabilities currently available there.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and feedback!

This is an exciting direction for Fusion Simulation. I think the API could be especially valuable for automating repetitive simulation workflows instead of treating each study as a completely manual process.

For example, I'd be interested in automating the setup of simulation studies, applying predefined materials and boundary conditions, running multiple design variants, and collecting the key results for comparison. A workflow where a designer could make several geometry changes and have Fusion automatically run the appropriate simulations and summarize which configuration performs best would be particularly useful.

For agentic workflows, I could see simulation becoming a validation step in the design loop: the agent proposes a design, runs the appropriate simulation, evaluates the results against specified requirements, identifies problems, and iterates on the design. The important part will be giving the agent enough control over simulation setup while still allowing the engineer to review and approve critical assumptions.

I'd also be interested in APIs for retrieving simulation results in a structured format. That would make it much easier to integrate Fusion Simulation with external analysis tools, optimization workflows, and custom engineering pipelines.

The ability to automate simulation without removing the engineer from the decision-making process could make this a very powerful addition to Fusion.
