DXF export -> x,y axis get reversed

Hi,

'iv found an issue with DXF exporting a sketch.

To reproduce: Draw a Sketch in the x,y positve quadrant of the coordinate system at z=0. Export this sketch as DXF and then back import it. Result: perfectly fine, the imported sketch is where it's suposed to be.

Now: Extrude the first sketch up or down doesn't matter. Then start a new sketch on the xy surface of the extruded body, stop sketch and export and back import. Result: The Drawing has its x and y axis reversed.

Work around: Make '0-offset plane' from extruded body face then project this very face into a new sketch on offset plane then export.

Thanks

Florian

I've investigated further:

My mentioned work around above results in non reversed x,y axis but the origin gets to be the 'sketch mid point'.

A better work around is not to project to a '0 offset plane' but to the xy plane, which gives the result i was hoping for.

I would like to see this fixed so that the exported sketch orientation and origin is as expected.

Thank you.

Florian

3 years on and still not fixed ! projecting on to an offset plane from the original to solve the multiply line DXF export and  now have solve the re-orientation of the DXF which is now inverted in every axis. Why is this still happening after so long on the agenda ?

Please solve the DXF export issues or provide some sort of method to get the correct result

Thanks

Hello,

Is it fixed now ? My DXF file has Y coordinates reverted (but not X) ... 🙄

Hi Sebastien,

I guess this may have something to do with the sketch coordinate system. The sketch is probably based on a plane, pointing to negative Z direction. Try this and see if it helps. Create a new sketch on XY plane (positive Z direction) and project the geometry to the sketch. Then export it to DXF. Does it work better now?

Many thanks!
