Duplicate Models

Dear Fusion 360 Community,

I am a newcomer and I recently installed Fusion 360 student version. Kindly help me to understand this Software.

I have started making all samsung galaxy models for learning. I have made its complete box for every model. The problem i am having now is related to the duplicate parts like charger, handfree etc. I have made a charger and copy paste that in all the folders. Now if i make any changes with the master file, i have to replace all other duplicate files, with the latest modified file, manually. Kindly give me a solution to make the clone of the master file in every folder. So that if i open any folder, there is a model of "charger". And if i modify any "charger" file, from any folder, all the "charger" files got modified automatically.

I am not sure why you do not create one, I will pick the charger, and save it to one folder.  In any assembly, that requires it, all you have to do is navigate to the folder containing the charger and right click and "Insert in to Current Design".  That model file is linked to the assembly.  If you have to modify the charger, you either open it and edit or edit it from the assembly where it is linked.  With a linked file, you have one model, in this case the charger, and when it is updated all assembly files it is linked to are updated.  In my screen capture, I show this command and also mark how it will look in the Browser after inserting it.  The main thing is to only have one model of all key components so updates are easy and they automatically prorogate to all assemblies.

There is another method called Derived Components but that is a little touchy for a beginner.

use the import into the current design every time you want to use that option. If you want to make changes or edit the part edit the source file so that you need not update each file individually.Hope this helps.
