Drawings created before the last update crash when clicking "change document settings"

I have been trying to update my template files for 2D drawings to include the new colour options on dimensions. When I click on "change document setting", Fusion hangs for a few seconds then fully crashes.

This happens on all of my previously produced drawings that were made before the last roll out.

Saving the file, or save as does not solve the issue.

This does not happen in newly created drawings.

Fusion version 2.0.14793

Running windows 11 pro version 22621.819

A link to a sample drawing.  - https://a360.co/3V86Gfw

Can anyone replicate, or find a solution please?

Cheers,

John

Since you seem to be having a very difficult time, I have tried it in my environment and the settings window opens without any problems.

Therefore, it is possible that the problem is specific to the PC you are working on.

It would be worth a try if you have the environment to reinstall Fusion360 or try it on a different PC around.

If the newly created Template is ok, I guess one way would be to recreate the template in the current environment.

Hi Bunga,

Thanks for the reply and confirming that you can access then settings

I am having the same issue on my home office PC as well as my work desktop so put it down to file based issues as opposed to install related.

I'm trying a fresh install of Fusion on my work PC so hopefully that will cure it. If it works I will re-install on my home PC and hope that clears everything.

Unfortunately a re-install hasn't worked. Same issue. Not sure where to go from here, apart from never click on that button on an older drawing...

I have done some more digging and it seems to be related to drawings that use templates with custom title blocks. I haven't yet been able to create an exact scenario where this occurs but as soon as I add a custom title block the crashing starts.

I have made various changes and it does not crash here.

Adding a title block or changing it to a new other one does not crash as well.

What is causing the crash?

Please let me know if there is a procedure to ensure a reliable crash.

Hi @John_Wright ,

Thanks for sharing the crash report.

We were hearing the complaint from few other users and it shows the similar crash report, unfortunately we were not able to reproduce this crash on our end, I tried with your file too, but no success to reproduce the crash.
But good news is that, We have made the fix based on reports and shall be available with next week's Fusion update.

Request you to wait and update the Fusion in next week and you should not see crash, and let us know the result after update.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,
