Drawing not on sketch plane

I have a sketch on a surface that is not coplanar with X or Y.  When I select the sketch and draw a rectangle, it is not coplanar with the sketch, but instead coplanar with the Y axis.  Sometime it works and is on the same plane of the sketch, but I am not sure what I am doing/not doing to make it work.  How do I select the plane I want to draw on?  Thanks a bunch!

Hi @shadman3000. Try disabling 3D Sketch (last option in Sketch Palette).

Do you have Auto look at sketch turned on? It can help to see the sketch down to you.

Hai @shadman3000

Toggle off the "3D Sketch" Option in the SKETCH PALETTE and select the surface.
