How to select only one design from the workspace to design layout? please help

You can just right click on any thing on the browser where you can find a show or hide option which hides the other designs. Also just click on the respective design or body and click on "V" or otherwise directly turn off the bulb indicated to the left of the folder.

You can create components and name them individually and hide them too.

If you are asking about creating a 2d drawing of a single part you can right click a component and select Create Drawing. This only works for components but should not be a problem  because if you are making assemblies you should be creating components of each part and probably should be following rule #1.

@Anonymous  As you've picked @Anonymous  answer I guess you're working in the model workspace and want to work on just one component. I'd like to point out when you activate a component Isolate\Unisolate become available.
