Do not capture Design History - What happens?

Hello Everybody,

I have designed a construction consisting of about 100 components. I don't really need the design history but I would prefer to sort the components alphabetically. The alphabetical sorting is abviously only possible if the option "capture Design History" is deactivated.

My question is pretty simple:

What happens to my construction if I deactivate the desin history by selecting the action "Do not capture Design History" on a finished construction? I want to avoid that the construction blows up due to that action.

Thanks in advance!

Make a copy, then turn Design History off in the copy.  Turning the Design History off will lose User Parameters, but the design should not blow up.

Thanks for your reply.

What do you mean with making a copy? I have about 100 components connected by joints. How could I make a copy of this without loosing the joints?

What do you mean with user parameters?

Thanks!

You could just disable history and see what happens, there is an undo button. Also you have the option to close the file without saving if you turn of autosave in your preferences.

On the file menu there is an option Save As that will create a copy so you can experiment without losing your original with history.
