Disgusting Bulging in patch environment for "sharp" geometry.

Hello there, 

 

I'm try to completer this enclosure shape with a cover using the patch environment and when I do that it kind of doesn't follow the edges very well neither when thickening it.

 

Any solutions?

Why Patch, for a solid of that shape?

 

Extrude the top view sketch, 

cut the side view to shape.

shell for the wall thickness, 

 

so so many ways to skin the cat.

Yeah but the patch method seem very convenient except it does this unexpected thing.

When you say "patch environment" are you actually using the Patch command?  I'm going to second Dave on thin one, patch isn't going to get you good result here.  even if you add a bunch of interior guide rails, you'll still have a crummy surface, because patch is a pretty rough tool in general.
