Disable the new settign of having the automated center marks and lines enabled in new drawings...

Question: Anyone know how to make Fusion stop having the "automated center marks and center lines" be selected every time you start a new drawing?!

This is new in the update last week. And it is annoying as hell, it puts WAY too much "busy-ness" in the drawings by default. Any help would be appreciated! Right now to turn them off, EVERY TIME you start a new drawing you have to "un-click" like 7 or 8 options. argh

Note that this is starting with a drawing template that existed for a long time before the update that added this automation.

You can change document settings within your drawing template, although Fusion seems to be ignoring my preferences after this latest update.

@bwalker145 Thanks, so it looks like we'll be waiting for a fix to this then. Guess I'll wait to mess with that until it is actually something that will "stick."

@bwalker145 Could you try selecting 'Component' as a 'Type' instead of 'Assembly' in your Document setting?

Hi @Leo_Dyn

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

From new release center mark and center mark pattern options will remain ON for component sheet.

You can change settings from Document Settings - For Component sheet turn OFF this options.

Legacy template scenario is defect and we have reported internal defect FUS-216961 for tracking.

Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks,

Sayali

Good catch, they were showing activated for component level on the template. However, after updating the template, creating a drawing still shows all of the "center marks" &  "center lines" options selected.  Edit: And now it's working correctly after updating all options (sheetmetal, etc.), so nevermind!

Thanks,

Going into each of my templates and updating all the different options (assembly, component, sheet metal, etc.) to have those off and then saving the templates seems to have solved my issue. Thanks for the reply!

Don't love that it changed the default settings in my templates, but easy enough to change, so not a huge deal.

Just came across this too and it think this "feature" is just a solution looking for a problem.

Normally for tech drawings you just add these things in a few places where you need which is super easy to do. But now, it's super hard to figure out how to turn them all off. It makes the drawings unnecessarily messy by automatically including it and now everyone has to update their templates. Such a waste of time.

As suggested by @Leo_Dyn updating your drawing templates and saving them does work for new drawings. However the fact that Autodesk has decided to roll it out to alter all existing drawings is ridiculous. If you create a new sheet on any drawing created prior to the update it will have automated centre marks and centre Lines on the new sheet. This means everytime we add a new sheet to one of our thousands of drawings created before the update we have to either uncheck them on the base view and projected view pane each time or go and alter them on the documents setting for each drawing.

@sandip_dumbare  could you look into this?

We understand your frustration with the recent changes. To mitigate the need to uncheck automated center marks and center lines in each base and projected view, you can consider navigating to the Document Settings and, under the 'View Defaults' tab, turn off the center mark options (as you mentioned). This adjustment should help avoid changing the view settings for each base and projected view every time you add a new sheet.

In the meantime, we have logged this issue with an internal ticket and are actively tracking it to identify a more permanent solution.

Thank you.

I know that you can alter each document setting but we have 100's of drawings so going through each historic drawing and altering the document settings is a pain that seems unnecessary. Furthermore  the default behaviour directly contradicts ISO 128 where it states that centrelines and centre marks should only be used where they contribute to the understanding of the drawing.

I've updated my templates, and I'm still getting automatic centerlines. I'm designing a pegboard component in to my design, and it's an absolute mess. Worse, I can't drag select all of the centerlines without my drawing moving. So now I have to go through and manually select each centerline? That will take at least 30 minutes.

What the heck is going on here?

Fusion is so great for modeling and CAM, but drawings just keep getting worse. Unfortunately, drawings are a big part of client communication.

Totally agree. What a disaster move to force this option in. @sandip_dumbare please help to solve this quickly.

Yes, as usual the "fix tip" dosent work. I´ve also updated my templates but the automated center lines are still default when placing a view. The workaround is 8 mouseclicks the disable the option. Or does anyone have a solution ?

Hi @niklas.agren ,
If you have made changes to your template, then the views should not display the center line. Could you please share your template with [email protected] so we can review and check if there is something missing in the template settings?

What kind of madness is this new default behaviour?
Automatic centre marks on all fillets, sheetmetal bends, ... etc?

And now I have to update all my drawing templates for all different clients to stop this behaviour?

There goes another day of billable work down the drain...

It is that CAM is very good in Fusion, otherwise Solidworks is looking more affordable by the day.

Hi @PG.Eng2

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

As you mentioned center marks are getting created for fillets and sheetmetal bends, we have internally reported defect for this scenario and we are working on this.

Thanks,

Sayali Todkar

thank you for raising the issue internally.

There are also centre marks generated for the circles of detail views, see attached.

centre mark detail view.jpgcentre mark detail view.jpg

Also, since you have the possibility of raising internal reports, could you also please raise the issue that the scale attribute in 2d drawings is constantly changing; to the scale of the last view of which the properties are opened? (and also adds the "(from parent)" remark in the title block scale attribute)

Have made a separate topic for this but does not seem to be caught by autodesk forum member.

Hi @PG.Eng2,

The detail view issue will also get resolved with fix of sheet metal bend issue. Team is actively working on fixing this issues.

Regarding scale issue, I have reported internal defect for this.

Thank you for your support,

Sayali

This is terrible, it's still doing the center marks. Removal in the doc settings is buggy as well, it worked once, now prohibits.

Look at this Tslot. Now consider how I have to clean up before sharing my work with clients. Unrelated: switching to "Fusion" as a name from "Fusion360" leads to some search results dealing with ford products and nuclear concepts... I really liked how Fusion360 as a reference led directly to internet content related to this program.
