disable reference a part inside a sketch

Hello. Currently when I start a new sketch from a plane that is offset from my current body, all my sketch entities want to snap to or reference the edges, points and faces from my existing body. I would like to have the existing body shown while creating a new sketch but not have any of my sketch entities reference the existing body in any way. I know you can disable snap to grid while sketching but can you disable snap to other geometry? Thanks!

Right click on the body or component that you do not want to select and leftclick on "Selectable/Unselectable" toward the bottom of the menu.

Repeat this process to make the component/body selectable again.

you can also change "preferences" (you find it under your account name) -> switch checkbox off

In case you want to project a specific geometry as a reference, you still can do this manually with "sketch" -> "project"
