dimensioning filleted corners

Hello,

I am trying to dimension a tapered cylindrical object that have small fillets. The top diameter is .50" which is what I would like to dimension on the drawing for machining, however, there is a .0050" radius fillet on it and I can only dimension the top or bottom of the fillet, neither of which gives me the right dimension of .50".

Any ideas would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are looking to dimension to a theoretical intersection. Are you in the Drawing environment or in a sketch in the model work space?

At this time time, I do not believe it is possible to dimension to theoretical intersections (unless the edges are perpendicular to one another. I'll follow up as soon as I confirm this.

In the mean time, could you just add a note to the drawing?

Thanks,

Thank you for the quick response Nathan!

I am working in the drawing environment that I generated from the model.

It seems like there is not an option for this curently. Your sketch shows it well, and if you just use .1 precision, it doesn't matter but I am working with .1234 precision so the 0.5 is actually .4988 if I dimension inside the fillets and a few thousands larger if on the outside. I just ended up getting rid of the fillet in the model and noted with a leader (which gives an error on the dimension, but that's ok as it doesn't show on the drawing).

Thank you,

Tamas
