Dimension length of angled line

I would love to be able to apply a sketch dimension to a line at some angle and use it to drive the length, not just the x or y component of it's length.

Yeah, I was quite surprised that this wasn't possible.

After some poking around, I discovered a work-around that will create this: when you first create the line, if you enter a dimension for the length then, that dimension will define the length of the line regardless of it's angle.  I'd still like to be able to create these for existing lines though.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, you can do this today. Start the dimension command, select the line, right-click and select Aligned, then place the dimension.

Ah!  Thanks Patrick!  Since you can't 'pull off' an aligned dimension, I assumed you couldn't make one.  Turns out it's also possible to click right next to the line after selecting it to create an aligned dimension as well.
